University Bridge

This section deals with University bridge and contains information provided by the FISU (Fédération Internationale de Sports Universitaires) Bridge Technical Committee.

DEFINITION

In accordance with FISU regulations, eligible to participate in University bridge events are, University students who have at most their 28th birthday
in the calendar year in question.

A new club, especially designed for students, has been established on Bridge Base Online (BBO): the University Bridge Room.

All students are welcome to the online tournaments held every Wednesday at 20.00 hrs and Sunday at 15.00 hrs CET (Central European Time).

After a succesfull first 'University Pairs Championship' on Sunday 12 August 2007 with more then 130 pairs participating, the University Bridge Club will be holding a 'University Bridge Pairs' competition every second Sunday of each month, starting at 19.00 hrs CET. 20 boards will be played.

1st Online University Bridge Cup

The first online University Bridge Championship started in March 2009. It is a knock out competition with rounds of 32 boards, played on BBO between student teams.

The online University Bridge Championship is now entering the final stage. The title is to be contested by Norway and Italy.
